KUWAIT, Nov 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait International Airport has achieved a whopping 78.18 percent in terms of aviation safety, a significant increase from 54 percent the previous year, according to an evaluation carried out by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
On a visit to Kuwait on Monday, a team of ICAO specialists found safety standards at Kuwait's International Airport to be highly satisfactory, read a statement issued by Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
It added that the ICAO team had wrapped up a week-long rigorous examination of safety conditions at the airport, where tangible progress was palpable across all departments, which it attributed to the efforts of airport security personnel.
Established in 1944, ICAO is a UN specialized agency that works to ensure a safe and efficient civil aviation sector through audits it carries out on airports across the world. (end) ht.nam
